The Lutheran confessions articulate how Lutheran Christians see things. They are contained in a book called The Book of Concord . Among other writings, the Lutheran confessions include: 

The Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed

    The Augsburg Confession 

    The Small Catechism 

    The Large Catechism

The Lutheran confessions are by no means perfect, and they do not replace the Bible, but they express our interpretation of the scriptures. The confessions provide a consistent and practical perspective that provides comfort and encouragement.
